FAQ

Does osteopathy hurt?

During some soft tissue treatments you may feel a little discomfort.
Some people feel sore after treatment, this is a perfectly normal and healthy response.

Do I need to see a doctor prior to osteopathy treatments?

In short no, if you’re paying for your own treatment, you don’t. However, some insurance companies may require you to see a doctor first.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of osteopathy treatments that you’ll need will depend on your specific condition and requirements. We aim to keep your appointments to a minimum.

What should I wear?

When you arrive for your osteopathy treatment you may need to undress to your underwear. In the event that you don’t need to undress to your underwear,  always make sure you wear something comfortable, thin and loose that you can be treated through.

Can I bring someone else along, i.e. a friend or relative?

Of course! If you wish you can have someone present throughout your entire consultation and osteopathic treatment.

Do you treat babies and children?

Yes, in fact I have treated babies as young as 4 days old.  It is usual to treat new born babies following a traumatic or lengthy birth.
